Name: Erin Wells
Role: Director of Technology Staffing & Recruiting
Favorite Food: Anything Mexican! Just can’t get enough of it
Fun Fact: I played intramural flag football in college
Proudest Accomplishment: My proudest accomplishment in life is being a mom to my two kids and it really is my greatest joy. Someone once told me being a parent is like the old saying “the toughest job you’ll ever love” and I’ve found that to be so true.

You have a long history in tech and staffing space —how did you get started down this path?
Right out of college, I was fortunate to start with a Des Moines based technology company in an inside sales role. In 2007, I transitioned into a coordinator role for the company’s IT Consulting division they were building up. From there, I gained a lot of valuable experience with many facets of IT staffing such as sales, recruiting, consultant care and retention, customer experience, and have stayed in this industry since.
What made you decide to join We Write Code?
I’ve known of and followed We Write Code for years (and even worked with a few of the individuals over a decade ago!) and have enjoyed watching them grow into a successful organization. The team is composed of very talented individuals that I’m excited to be surrounded by and learn from. Not to mention, they’re fun!
How do you see your past experiences at other staffing companies helping you in your new position at We Write Code?
I’m very thankful for each and every experience I’ve had over the years, for mentors along the way, and the successes and failures I’ve had. With each career opportunity I’ve continued to strive to make meaningful connections with clients and really listen to their needs in order to deliver quality candidates that were able to execute on projects and provide valuable outcomes. Knowing how to find these skilled individuals for technical project teams and roles will help WWC grow their staffing and recruiting services and help their partners find fantastic talent.
What drives you and what does success look like in the staffing industry?
A huge driving factor for me is helping organizations accomplish their goals, and helping candidates better their lives by finding their next fulfilling opportunity. This goes along with my definition of success in this role – a positive and excellent client and consultant experience all around.
What hobbies and activities do you do outside of work (fam included)?
Spending time with my family, friends, and being involved with my kids activities is a big priority to me. I also love volunteering at my local animal shelter, traveling, running, reading, and watching sports.
